Axenfeld's Nerve Loop
  • Posterior ciliary nerve loops that are visible in the sclera.
  • Usually marked by multiple focal pigmented areas at a constant distance from the corneoscleral junction.
  • Manipulation of the overlying conjunctiva may elicit considerable pain.
