Principal Investigator

Dr. Silverman’s research includes development of high-resolution imaging systems, studies of ultrasound safety and bioeffects, high-intensity ultrasound, blood-flow imaging, Doppler methods, photoacoustics, 3D imaging, and tissue characterization.

He conducts studies of ocular disease, both clinically and in animal models.

Current projects include correlation of anterior segment anatomic changes with genetic abnormalities and with cardiovascular damage in Marfan Syndrome.

He is working with collaborator Jeffrey Ketterling, PhD (Weill Cornell Radiology) on development of novel systems for 3D ultrasound imaging, focusing on evaluation of the optic nerve.
