- Acquired disc collateral between the retinal and the ciliary circulations.
- May present as an important finding of optic nerve sheat meningioma.
- Commonly develop as a complication of central retinal vein occlusion.

- Tortuous vascular loops that start and end on the disc
- Can be distinguished from disc neovascularization by their:
- Larger caliber
- Lack of leakage in fluorescein angiogram
