Clinical Features

  • Presence of artificial intraocular lens (IOL) replacing normal human lens
  • Artificial lens may be placed in the anterior or posterior chamber

Possible Side Effects

  • Under- or over correction.
  • Malpositions or subluxations.
  • Pupil ovalization or angle compromise in an anterior chamber lens implant.
  • Irvine-Gass syndrome: cystoid macular edema following uncomplicated or complicated cataract removal.
