Cynthia Worthington, Admissions Coordinator, Retires
January 13, 2020
After 29 years, Cynthia Worthington, the DPT program's admissions coordinator, retired. Ms. Worthington served under three program directors and worked with students throughout all phases of their Columbia DPT experience, from application to graduation.
In addition to processing applications and scheduling interviews and open houses, she produced major program events such as orientation, the white coat ceremony, and program convocation. She worked with state physical therapy boards to facilitate graduating students' applications for their licensing exams, and in her spare time, she obtained a master’s degree.
Faculty, staff, and friends celebrated her retirement at a luncheon at Coogan’s Restaurant. Looking back at her experience, Cynthia commented, “I’ve had several jobs over the past four decades, but my position at Columbia has been the one that I have truly loved and where I have grown.”
Cynthia looks forward to enjoying retirement with her husband Richard. Her plans include “sleeping as much as possible, traveling and working with marginalized populations as a volunteer.”
She will be missed! We wish her the very best as she enters this new, exciting phase of her life.
