Socially Responsible Surgery Organization
Socially Responsible Surgery (SRS) is a national organization of students and surgeons dedicated to promoting equity, advocacy, and accountability in surgical care and education. Our work focuses on identifying and addressing healthcare disparities, increasing community engagement, and ensuring that surgical care is accessible and inclusive for all patients. By integrating research, education, and service, we strive to advance socially responsible practices in surgery, as well as healthcare more broadly.
Whether you’re passionate about global health, community outreach, policy change, or just curious about how surgery can drive social justice, SRS offers the platform, mentorship, and action to fuel that passion! From advocacy projects and hands-on volunteer work to inspiring guest speakers and research opportunities, SRS is your chance to be part of something bigger than yourself from day one of medical school!
