Advanced Seminar Courses

The advanced seminar courses allow students to gain greater knowledge and skill in a clinical area of interest. Course formats include lecture, laboratory, small group interactions, self-directed learning, case studies, problem-solving sessions and patient demonstrations in the clinical setting. In addition, several of the courses listed under specialized areas of clinical practice provide advanced learning experiences in specialty areas. 

Electives

The Columbia DPT program features a wide range of electives that gives students the opportunity to explore specialized areas of clinical practice and develop skills that are beyond entry-level practice. All students are required to take three elective credits as part of the graduation requirement but may take an unlimited number of classes. Most electives are offered for one credit. Elective courses are listed below:
