Research
At Columbia University Irving Medical Center, the advancement of knowledge is central to our mission as an academic medical institution. In the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, our faculty members are conducting ground-breaking, NIH-funded investigations into the causes of genetic hearing loss and pioneering new methods for hearing loss treatment. We are also conducting vigorous work in areas including cleft lip and palate genetics, implantable biomaterials and tissue engineering, and head and neck cancer.
