VP&S REDCap

The VP&S Office for Research oversees a centralized REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) available to CUIMC and CU investigators, and external users who are part of multi-center studies hosted by the VP&S REDCap.

REDCap is a secure, HIPAA-compliant web-based application designed for data collection for research studies. REDCap provides:

  • Sophisticated survey tools for building and managing online surveys
  • An easy-to-use data entry system, with data validation
  • The ability to import data from external sources
  • Automated exports to the most common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, R, and Stata)
  • Audit trails for tracking data changes and exports
  • Advanced survey features, such as branching logic, calculated fields, and answer piping.

VP&S REDCap Service

VP&S REDCap is available to CUIMC and CU investigators, and external users who are part of multi-center studies hosted by the VP&S REDCap. It is administered with guidance from the Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) and partial funding from the Irving Institute CTSA.

The VP&S REDCap service will include staff to support:

  • Training for new and existing users
  • Consultative services for users wishing to build new projects or migrate existing projects
  • New functionality for secure collection and management of clinical data from Epic
