Dental External Scholarship Opportunities

Academy of Latter-day Saints Dentists 

Open to dental hygiene students who are members of Academy of LDS Dentists AND the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints,  and have not received this scholarship previously.

American Association of Women Dentists 

Offered to female dental students and dentists who are members of the AAWD.

American Dental Association 

Lists various scholarship opportunities for dental/graduate students.

American School Health Association 

Offered to current ASHA members who are students in pediatrics or adolescent dentistry and have involvement in school health.

Armenian American Medical Society 

Offered to dental students of Armenian descent.

Chinese American Medical Society 

Offered to dental students of Chinese descent who are currently in first-, second-, or third-year.

Financial Assistance Program 

Open to U.S. citizens who are accepted into a residency program in an area needed by the U.S. Navy and are physically qualified for a commission. Applicants are obligated to serve. 

Health Careers Scholarship 

Offered to students who have completed their first year of dental school. May re-apply for up to three academic years and must be in good academic standing. 

Health Professions Scholarship Program 

Open to students who are entering any ADA-accredited dental program and are on active duty in the U.S. Army. 

Hispanic Dental Association 

Several scholarships offered to current dental student members of the Hispanic Dental Association. 

Hispanic Scholarship Fund 

Need-based. Offered to students of Hispanic heritage.  

Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago 

Need-based. Open to Jewish dental students who were born and raised in Chicago or employed full-time for one year in Chicago metropolitan area. 

Korean American Scholarship Foundation 

Need-based. Open to Korean American students who are enrolled full-time. 

Medical Research Fellows Program 

Offered to dental students in good academic standing who are interested in medical research. 

Monroe Dental Society 

Open to residents of Monroe County, New York who are dental students in their second, third, or fourth. 

National Health Service Corps 

Offered to dental students who agree to work at least 2 years at NHSC cite upon graduation and completion of residency training. 

National Hispanic Health Foundation 

Offered to dental students of Hispanic heritage. 

National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research Summer Dental Student Award

Open to dental students who are U.S. citizens/ permanent residents. Awardees agree to work a minimum of 8 consecutive weeks conducting research. 

Navy Dental Scholarship 

Offered to dental students and residents. Not obligated to serve until after the completion of their educational program.

Organization of American States Professional Development Scholarships 

Several scholarship opportunities offered to students who are citizens or permanent residents of member states of OAS. 

Paul Ambrose Scholars Program

Open to Paul Ambrose scholars who are students in dentistry at an institution within the United States.

Roothbert Fund Scholarship

Merit-based. Open to all in the U.S. and those who consider careers in education. 

Rowe Fund of the Organization of American States 

Loan repayment program open to OAS members.

The Horace Wells Club Trust

Available to Dental student who are from the State of Connecticut.
