About Bassett Healthcare Network

Bassett Healthcare Network is a large, rural health system, which gives care to people in an area the size of Connecticut, with a central campus in Cooperstown, New York. It is approximately 200 miles and about a three and a half hour drive from New York City.

Founded in 1927, Bassett Healthcare has been recognized as a model U.S. health system. Bassett has achieved recognition for our utilization of technology and procedures, systematic organization, community service model, large school-based health center system, and numerous other activities.

Bassett’s faculty has been teaching students from Columbia since 1931. Teaching faculty currently includes 278 salaried physicians, 264 advanced care practitioners, and 50 residents.
