The Columbia University Doctoral Degree Program in Physical Therapy is one of the oldest yet exceptionally progressive programs to educate students for the profession of physical therapy.
As an integral part of the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, the program is guided by a key principle: Although the acquisition of knowledge and skills is important in professional education, an understanding of the science, art, and ethics used to apply that knowledge and skill is far more vital. The DPT program builds its curriculum, selects its faculty, and assembles its clinical experiences to develop in its students this understanding of physical therapy.
