Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Department of Radiation Oncology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) recognizes the value of a diverse medical workforce as well as the importance of supporting underrepresented minorities (URMs) in medicine.

The Department has also created a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee to further advance our mission. The aim of this multi-professional team is to aid in the recruitment and retention of URM physicians in Radiation Oncology as well as to advance issues that disproportionately affect minority cancer populations.

The Department of Radiation Oncology at CUIMC embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion as necessary core values, as an ethical imperative, and as a fundamental objective of a leading humanitarian organization. Our overarching goal is to eliminate the widening disparities of care and outcomes that currently exist. The Department is dedicated to ensuring that all communities, without regard to gender, race, national origin or socioeconomic status, receive access to the best cancer care possible.
