Why you chose this EdD program: I was motivated by the innovative collaboration between Teachers College and CUIMC which offers the ideal environment to accomplish clinically relevant research at the intersection of physical therapy and education.

Jennifer Jezequel
University and year of graduation: Columbia University, Programs in Physical Therapy (2008)
Clinical background: I am a Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist with shared clinical roles in the gait analysis laboratory and pediatric outpatient rehabilitation in a specialized hospital setting. My primary focus is in the care of individuals with cerebral palsy.
Research interest: My current research interests are related to the assessment of selective voluntary motor control in ambulatory children with cerebral palsy.
Why you chose this EdD program: I selected this EdD program in pursuit of rigorous academic training offered as a part-time program with an in-person learning environment.

Johnathan Jezequel

Clinical background: I am a double Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedics and Sports and have spent my career in private outpatient practices. I believe deeply in patient education and empowerment and a focus of quality over quantity.
Research interest: My research interests are in motor control and lower limb tendinopathies.
Why you chose this EdD program: The Doctor of Education in Movement Science at Teachers College and Columbia University Irving Medical Center, is above and beyond other comparable programs, provides an in-person graduate program experience with just the right combination of academic rigor, research training, and clinical relevance.

Genevieve Smith
University and year of graduation: Doctorate of Physical Therapy, Virginia Commonwealth University
Clinical background: My clinical background is in outpatient orthopedics. I am a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. My clinical interests include vestibular dysfunction, concussion, running injuries, and athletic injury prevention and management.
Research interest: My research interest include the management of sports-related concussion and athletic injury prevention.
Why you chose this EdD program: I chose this EdD program because of the unique collaboration between Teachers College and Physical Therapy Department on the Medical Campus, the supportive faculty, and the opportunity to begin our research projects on Day 1.
