Business Processes

The Business Processes Workgroup is dedicated to expanding utilization and adoption of AI capabilities across the various business units at Columbia VP&S. With over 65 members acrossfive subgroups, the workgroup includes representatives from all business units of the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC), including people services, finance, oversight, clinical administration, and more.

Its efforts center on making generative AI tools accessible, promoting education and training, and developing use cases that explore how AI can enhance existing technologies across the University. Early successes include foundational workshops on generative AI and prompt engineering, with additional training opportunities currently in development. The members are actively developing and workshopping use cases for their respective business units and working on increasing adoption of AI across their teams.
