STEP-IN SMA Australia

STEP-IN SMA provides competency-based continuing professional development education programs that have three phases. Phase one involves asynchronous modules, self assessments and post module assessments. Phase two is an in-person 2.5 day hands-on workshop. This workshop includes lab activities under the guidance of expert SMA PTs. On day two individuals with SMA join the workshop to facilitate learning. In Phase three learners return to their work environment, practice the essential activities, and undergo workplace based assessments by their mentor(s). Drs. Jacqueline Montes, Jean Fitzpatrick, Sally Dunway Young (DPT class of 2008), as well as Elizabeth Harding traveled to Sydney, Australia to facilitate the workshop.
