Overview
Enad Dawod, MD, is a gastroenterologist and academic physician practicing at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Jordan, Faculty of Medicine, in Amman, Jordan. Dr. Dawod completed his residency in Internal Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University and Weill Cornell Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Weill Cornell, followed by an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Dawod is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Gastroenterological Association, the New York Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the International Federation of Medical Students Association. His professional interests include pancreatology, gastrointestinal bleeding, and advanced endoscopic techniques. He has a particular clinical and research focus on therapeutic endoscopy and the management of acute pancreatitis.
He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Dawod serves as a co-investigator on a randomized controlled trial evaluating low-fat versus regular diet management in acute pancreatitis. He is a reviewer for Endoscopy International Open Journal and a mentee reviewer for the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Journal. Dr. Dawod was recently honored for his contributions to the field of gastroenterology.
