2026 VP&S Alumni Reunion
Valerie Ulene, MD, and David Skaggs, MD, were presented with the Gold Medal for Meritorious Service to VP&S and its Alumni Association at the VP&S Alumni Reunion on April 24, 2026, in New York City.
Based in Los Angeles, Drs. Ulene and Skaggs have played a vital role in strengthening the VP&S alumni community on the West Coast. As regional hosts for alumni gatherings and events welcoming newly admitted students, they have fostered enduring connections across generations of VP&S graduates and helped extend the culture of the institution far beyond New York. Through volunteer leadership, mentorship, and hospitality, they have served as models for alumni giving and service.
Dr. Ulene is co-founder and medical director of Clear Health Advisors, a health navigation company. Dr. Skaggs is executive vice chair of orthopaedics and director of pediatric orthopaedics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
