Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Three students make organ models.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility Criteria can be found at: https://www.nysed.gov/postsecondary-services/science-and-technology-entry-program-step(link is external and opens in a new window) under eligibility.

Selection Criteria

Students enrolled in S-PREP are selected on the basis of character and academic merit that aligns with the eligibility criteria outlined below:

  • Maintenance of an 80% grade average particularly in math and science
  • A strong interest in medicine or STEM
  • The ability to commit to the program schedule
  • Conduct him/her/themselves in a manner conducive to their own learning, and to the learning of others.
