The Wu Family China Center for Health Initiatives at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons

Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S) has collaborated with Chinese universities, medical schools, and hospitals since the early 20th century.

Following many successful collaborations with a host of distinguished Chinese medical centers, including Peking University, Peking Union Medical College, Fudan University, and Hong Kong University, Dr. Clyde Y.C. Wu and Mrs. Helen Tseng Wu created and endowed the Wu Family China Center at VP&S to be dedicated to medical research and training.

The Wu Family China Center has partnered officially with Zhejiang University Medical School and its seven teaching hospitals since 2013.

The original Zhejiang University was founded in Hangzhou in 1897. Nearly a century later, the current Zhejiang University was formed out of four previously independent universities by the Beijing Ministry of Education and Zhejiang Province in 1998; its medical school was formerly known as Zhejiang Medical University.
