Overview

Dr. Miranda Tan is an Associate Professor of Medicine in Neurology and Founding Director of the Claire Tow Home Ventilation Program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care, sleep medicine, and internal medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP).

In her clinical practice, Dr. Tan specializes in the management of chronic respiratory failure and sleep-disordered breathing using noninvasive ventilation (NIV), particularly in patients with neuromuscular diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Her broader research focuses on the intersection of respiratory physiology and artificial intelligence, leveraging digital phenotyping and multimodal machine learning to develop precision-based interventions that improve patient survival and quality of life.

An internationally recognized expert, Dr. Tan has published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Chest, and the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. She has also served as an invited speaker and moderator at multiple national and international meetings.
