Leah M. Katz, MD, MPH is a board-certified radiation oncologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital and assistant professor of radiation oncology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She sees patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital Cheryl Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center in Peekskill, New York. Dr. Katz actively treats breast cancer, offering intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT,)which is a single fraction of radiation delivered at the time of one's breast surgery for early stage breast cancer. She also treats gynecological, gastrointestinal, and lung cancers, as well as lymphomas. For lung cancer, she is able to offer the advanced technique of stereotactic radiation therapy (SBRT.)She also offers palliative radiation oncology for metastatic disease. Dr. Katz and colleagues received an NRG Oncology grant to study sexual health in underrepresented women receiving pelvic radiation in 2021, and more recently was awarded a grant in 2022 to help women reduce the toxicities of breast cancer treatment.
