Jessica Ann Galatioto, AUD
Overview
Jessica Galatioto is the Director of Audiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) and serves as Assistant Professor of Audiology. Dr. Galatioto has been practicing Audiology in New York City for over two decades. Prior to joining CUIMC in 2017, Dr. Galatioto served as a Supervisor of Audiology at The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Dr. Galatioto also served as an Adjunct Professor at the City University of New York Graduate Center and Adelphi University for the Doctor of Audiology programs for many years. Dr Galatioto has taught many future audiologists during their graduate training and continues to serve as a preceptor to audiology students at Columbia. Dr. Galatioto also participates in the training of Columbia’s ENT resident physicians with a focus on vestibular training and audiology diagnostic testing.
Dr. Galatioto’ s clinical focus lie in audiological diagnostic testing, vestibular diagnostic testing, pediatric vestibular disorders, electrophysiological evaluation and adult amplification. Dr. Galatioto works mainly with the adult population and has many long time patients. She takes pride in educating her patients to understand their specific hearing loss diagnosis. Dr. Galatioto works closely with her patients to identify specific goals regarding hearing loss treatment and hearing aids. Dr. Galatioto also participates in clinical research regarding hearing loss and provides audiological clinical support for multiple clinical trials at CUIMC.
Dr. Galatioto received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences from the University of Maryland. She then completed her Master of Science Degree in Communicative Sciences, with a concentration in Audiology, at Hunter College. Dr. Galatioto received her Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University. Dr. Galatioto earned the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association (ASHA). She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA).
When not helping her patients hear better, Dr Galatioto loves enjoying all things NYC and cheering on NY sports teams with her family.
