Overview

Dr. Erin Ferenchick is a board-certified family physician and global health leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing integrated, person-centered care in the United States and internationally. She serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine where she teaches, mentors, and leads educational initiatives with a focus on global health.

Dr. Ferenchick began her career in humanitarian settings with the International Rescue Committee, working in Somaliland, Afghanistan, and Sudan. She has since held senior advisory and consulting roles with leading global health institutions, including Gavi, the World Health Organization, and most recently the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Her work centers on advancing health equity for underserved populations by strengthening primary health care systems and linking policy with implementation to improve physical and mental health outcomes, particularly in complex and resource-limited settings. She has extensive field experience in sub-Saharan Africa, including long-term engagement in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

An accomplished scholar and advocate, Dr. Ferenchick has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and contributes regularly to global policy guidance and consensus documents. She is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) and is widely recognized for her thought leadership in bridging global guidance with local health systems to improve equity, access, and quality of care.
