Overview
Dr. Danielle Struble-Fitzsimmons is an Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine (PT) and Associate Director of Student Recruitment in the Programs in Physical Therapy at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York. She previously served as a Director of Clinical Education for the DPT Program from 2022-2025. She is a licensed physical therapist and certified by the Lymphology Association of North America as a lymphedema specialist. Dr. Struble-Fitzsimmons received BS, MPT, and DPT degrees from The University of Scranton and a PhD in Health Science from Seton Hall University.
Dr. Struble-Fitzsimmons has 20+ years of patient care and healthcare leadership experience working in outpatient and inpatient settings in the NY/NJ area. In the clinic, she spearheaded multiple quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of PT services and promote interprofessional practice. Dr. Struble-Fitzsimmons held multiple part-time DPT faculty roles (Mercy University, New York Medical College) prior to joining the Columbia University faculty. She has presented at local, state, and national conferences in her research areas of clinical education, lymphedema management, cardiopulmonary dysfunction, and mental health.
