Rupin N. Parikh, MD joins Department of Ophthalmology

 

Rupin N. Parikh, MD, an oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, has joined the full-time faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in the management of orbital disease, eyelid and lacrimal surgery, periocular oncology, trauma, and complex orbital reconstruction.

Dr. Parikh earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Albany Medical College and went on to complete fellowship training in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Iowa. His clinical and academic interests include cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery, oculoplastic trauma, and advancing surgical education. He is active in several professional societies, including the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Ophthalmic Trauma, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

He has been recognized with honors such as the University of Iowa Fellow Teaching Award and the ASOPRS Foundation Fellowship Travel Grant for his commitment to surgical innovation, mentorship, and education in oculofacial plastic surgery.

Dr. Parikh will be seeing patients at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute at Vanderbilt Clinic and at the Burch Family Eye Center at Lincoln Center. We are delighted to welcome him to Columbia Ophthalmology.
