Study Identifies a New Way to Strengthen CAR T Cells

The Sadelain Lab has discovered a powerful new way to enhance CAR T cell therapy. By adding a small domain from the developmental protein called pre-TCR alpha (pTα), Shi et al. made CAR T cells more robust, longer-lasting, and far more effective against solid tumors. This work shows that programming T cells to better produce proteins unlocks a new level of control—one that the team plans to bring into clinical trials.
