New VP&S Alumni Association President Anne Covey ’94 Shares Her Vision for Building Community

Anne Covey ’94 has begun her term as president of the VP&S Alumni Association. Covey says she can often tell when she meets someone who went to VP&S: “They’re engaged. They’re interesting. They are thoughtful and aren’t afraid to dive in and take responsibility.”

For Covey, that connection began during medical school. Many of her closest friendships today are with VP&S classmates. “We learned together, trained together, lived together, and helped shape one another during a formative time in our lives,” she says.

As president, Covey hopes to help alumni discover the many ways they can connect with VP&S and one another—and find the opportunities that are most meaningful to them. “My goal is to ensure alumni everywhere have the opportunity to be engaged in the VP&S community—that the friendships, experiences, and sense of belonging that begin at VP&S continue long after graduation and last a lifetime,” she says.

Covey succeeds Vivian Lewis ’77, who served as president of the Alumni Association for the past three years. Eight new board members are also beginning their terms this fall.
