The ALS Association Program at Columbia University Named a Certified Treatment Center of Excellence

Message from Neil Shneider, MD, PhD., Director, The Eleanor and Lou Gehrig ALS Center:

"We are very proud of this achievement, and of the integrated ALS research and clinical program we have built in recent years.  Combined with the MDA/ALS program, we now care for over 400 ALS patients in the New York region, and expect that number to continue to increase as we more firmly establish ourselves as the dominant center for ALS research and patient care in New York. Our close partnerships with the Motor Neuron Center and the New York Genome Center also give us great strength in the basic and pre-clinical sciences that few institutions can match."
