Programs of Study

Class of 2025

We offer a variety of programs of study within genetic counseling - choose the one that is right for you depending on your interests.

MS in Genetic Counseling

Our inaugural program of study, the MS in Genetic Counseling welcomed its first class of students in Fall 2019. This is a 21-month graduate program culminating in the Master of Science (MS) in Genetic Counseling degree and eligibility to write the ABGC Certification Examination. This program generally enrolls 12 students per year and is only open for fall entry.

Pre-GC Series

If you are exploring the profession of genetic counseling and considering applying to graduate programs, the Pre-GC Series is for you. Designed to provide exposure to the practice and profession of genetic counseling, the Series includes both webinars and our popular Experiential Practicum which offers observation of genetic counseling sessions. Entry is available several times per year.

Genetic & Genomic Assistantship

Launched in 2023, the Assistantship provides training and education in the key skills needed to work as a Genetic Counselor Assistant (GCA) or a Genetic Assistant (GA). This program of study can be taken with a cohort of other students or can be entirely self-paced. Entry is available year-round.
