Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Achieving excellence through diversity
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
As a national leader in patient care, health sciences training and biomedical research, Columbia's Department of Medicine is building a supportive and culturally-rich environment that nurtures the success and wellbeing of our student body, our trainees, our faculty, and the patient populations we serve.
To advance this effort, the Department of Medicine has launched a new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative. This initiative will strengthen our ability to train physicians, and to mentor, recruit, and retain faculty. We are working to build more pathways for health science education, to create new opportunities for our faculty, and, ultimately, to achieve a future in which every patient – here in Northern Manhattan and across the country – has access to and receives the highest-quality health care.
Make a Gift
With your support, Dr. Irobunda and the Department of Medicine can realize a vision of diversity, equity, and inclusion across our department and strengthen our ability to provide equitable, compassionate, and respectful care to our neighborhood and to the communities we serve.
