Nurture Connection

Advancing the Field of Relational Health in a Relational Way

Nurture Connection is an impact network at Georgetown University’s Thrive Center that brings together parent leaders, clinicians, researchers, funders, and other professionals to advance the field of ERH.

Together, the Center for ERH and Reach Out and Read collaborate with Nurture Connection to develop methods to understand, evaluate, and responsibly promote parent/caregiver-child relationships through pediatric practice, the broader healthcare system, and other family-facing organizations.

One such initiative is the ERH Learning Community, which actively brings perspectives from parents across America; scientists (in both academic and implementation science); clinicians; and specialists in ERH and early childhood development into the co-design of a large-scale research agenda focused on:

  1. furthering the mechanistic understanding of ERH
  2. meaningfully advancing the field by studying effective, scalable interventions for integrating ERH promotion into pediatric primary care.

This collaborative network invites feedback from all corners of the ERH community; builds real family voices into study design; interconnects a large data-capture of parent/caregiver-child outcomes with practice-based research; and offers actionable avenues for pediatric implementation

Through this inter-sector collaboration, the Center for ERH is co-creating a catalyst for achieving significant population and next-generation impacts.
